10K, 14K or 18K white gold
| Karat | Pure gold | Rings here | Price range |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10K | 41.7% | 5 | $1,200 to $4,200 |

14K is the everyday standard: hard enough for daily wear and rich enough to feel like fine jewelry. 10K is the toughest of the three and the lightest on gold. 18K has the most gold and feels heavier; our two 18K rings are R-0064, a heart lab ring, and R-0105, a natural round. Why white gold suits an E color stone
Every ring here is graded E color, the second-whitest grade on GIA's D-to-Z scale. A white metal frames that color without adding warmth, so the stone reads as bright as it really is. Yellow gold can reflect a touch of warmth into a diamond; white gold does not. If you paid for E, white gold shows it off. The grade is explained in E color VS1 diamond rings.
Lab or natural in white gold
45 of these rings are lab-grown and 5 are natural. Both carry the same E color, VS1 grade, and both are real diamonds. The difference is price and resale: the natural rings run from $3,500 to $8,900, while lab rings reach much larger weights for the money. Read lab vs natural diamonds before you choose.
Rhodium and keeping it bright
White gold is a gold alloy mixed with white metals, and most white gold jewelry gets a thin rhodium plating that makes it bright white. Over time that plating wears where the ring rubs, and a faint warm tone can show through. A fresh rhodium plating brings it back. How often depends on how hard you wear it. Clean it with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush. The full story is in white gold and rhodium.
White gold or platinum
Platinum is naturally white and heavier, and it does not need plating, but it costs more for the same design. We carry one platinum ring, R-0067, a pear lab ring at $5,300. For most buyers 14K white gold gives the same look for less. Compare them in white gold vs platinum.

Shapes that look best in white
Step cuts like the emerald show color more than any other shape, so a white setting matters most there; we have six emerald rings in white gold. Hearts and ovals have wide faces where warmth would show, and white gold keeps them icy. Rounds hide color best, so they look good in any metal, but white still gives the coolest look. Shop by shape: round, heart, emerald.

Questions people ask
How much is a white gold diamond ring?
Our white gold diamond rings run from $960 to $8,900. Most are 14K white gold with lab-grown diamonds.
Is 14K white gold good for an engagement ring?
Yes. 14K is 58.3% pure gold, hard enough for daily wear, and it is the karat most of our white gold rings use.
Does white gold turn yellow?
The rhodium plating on white gold wears over time and a faint warm tone can show. A new rhodium plating brings back the bright white.
Do you have natural diamonds in white gold?
Yes, 5 of the 50 white gold rings hold natural diamonds, all graded E color, VS1 clarity.
