Diamond Wedding Bands: Eternity, Half Eternity and Men's Bands

The short answer

A diamond wedding band sets a row of diamonds across the top (half eternity) or all the way around (full eternity). Channel and pavé settings hold up best to daily wear. Franky Diamonds' diamond bands run from slim 14K women's eternity bands at $760 to men's 10K bands with 4.38 and 5.55 carats of diamonds.

Because full eternity bands cannot easily be sized, getting the size right at the start matters even more.

Settings that wear well

  • Channel: stones sit between two walls of gold. Smooth, snag-free, the toughest choice.
  • Pavé: tiny beads of metal hold small stones. Most sparkle, more upkeep.
  • Prong (shared or individual): shows the most of each diamond, catches more.
  • Bezel: metal rims around each stone; protective and modern.

Matching a band to an engagement ring

Match the karat and color. A 14K band against a 14K engagement ring wears evenly; mixing karats wears the softer ring faster. Shapes with points (pear, marquise) or high settings can leave a gap against a straight band; a contoured band closes it. Bring your engagement ring to the showroom and try bands against it.

Men's diamond wedding bands

Men's bands are wider and heavier. The Classic Eternity Band puts 4.38 ct across a slim 3.63 g band; the Zeus Diamond Band carries 5.55 ct on 13.29 g of 10K gold. 10K is the hardest common karat, a good match for hands that work. More in men's diamond rings.

Size and care

Bands fit tighter as they get wider: for a band over 4 mm, go up a quarter size. Ring size is not a menu choice on our product pages, so call 954-504-5640 to confirm sizing before you order. All sales are final, so measure first. Clean weekly with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and check stones once a year. All orders ship insured.

Choosing band width

WidthLookBest for
Under 2 mmDelicatePairing with a large engagement ring
2 to 3 mmClassic women's bandWearing alone or stacked
4 to 6 mmBold women's or slim men'sA band that stands on its own
6 mm and upMen's statementWide hands, heavy rings

A thin band next to a big center stone makes the stone look bigger. A wide band balances a large hand.

When to buy the bands

Buy wedding bands once the engagement ring is final, so you can match metal, karat and profile. Bring the engagement ring when you shop. For two bands that match each other, choose the same gold color and a similar finish, even if the widths differ for his and hers.

Diamond bands for anniversaries

Many couples skip a diamond band at the wedding and add one later. A tenth or twenty-fifth anniversary is a common moment for an eternity band. If you plan to add one later, buy the engagement ring with a low setting and a straight shank, so any band will sit flush when the time comes. Keep the karat consistent across all the rings on that finger.

Caring for a band you never take off

A wedding band is worn every day, often for decades. Small stones in pavé and shared prongs can loosen over time, so have a jeweler check them once a year. Clean weekly with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Take the band off for heavy gym work, which can bend thin bands out of round.

Questions people ask

Are your diamond wedding bands lab-grown or natural?

The band listings describe the stones as diamonds with total carat weight. Ask before ordering and we will confirm the origin of the stones in the exact band.

Do diamond wedding bands come with a certificate?

Bands use many small diamonds graded as a range rather than one by one. Ask about the paperwork for the specific band.

Can the ring be resized?

Resizing is not in our published policies, and full eternity bands cannot easily be resized by anyone. Measure carefully and confirm the size with us before you order.

Can I see diamond wedding bands in person in Miami?

Yes, at 7900 NW 27th Ave, Unit 506, Miami. Call 954-504-5640 first.
