Iced Out Jewelry: Real Diamonds, Real Gold, Stone Origin Stated

The short answer

Iced out jewelry is gold covered in diamonds so densely the piece looks like ice. At Franky Diamonds, "We ain't cuttin no corners" means real gold, real diamonds and the stone origin stated on every piece: lab diamond necklaces from 6.75 to 30 carats, iced bracelets up to 26.6 carats, diamond signets and natural diamond pendants.

Lab-grown vs natural for iced pieces

Iced pieces use many stones, so origin moves the price enormously. Lab diamonds made 20 and 30 ct necklaces affordable; our 30 ct necklace works out to about $298 per carat. Natural iced pieces cost far more. Both are real diamond; the FTC requires lab stones to be labeled, and ours always are. Learn more: what iced out means.

Gold karat for iced jewelry

Iced necklaces and bracelets need strong metal around hundreds of small settings. 10K (41.7% gold) is hardest; 14K (58.3%) has richer color and is our standard for most iced necklaces. Avoid anything sold as "gold" without a karat stamp.

Custom iced pieces

Want your name, logo or a piece no one else has? Custom work starts with your idea, then the design and exact price before anything is made, then we make and deliver it. Start at custom. Franky Diamonds has made iced pieces in Miami since 2010.

How iced out jewelry is built

An iced necklace is a chain of small settings, each holding a diamond, hinged so the piece lies flat and moves. Tennis-style necklaces use one stone per link; cluster designs group several. Pendants set hundreds of small diamonds into a gold frame with pavé beads or prongs. The more stones, the more settings, and the more bench hours, which is why a well-made iced piece costs more than its diamond weight alone suggests.

Starting your iced collection

Most people start with one iced piece and build around it. A tennis-style necklace or an iced bracelet is the most versatile first piece; it works alone or under a chain. A signet or pendant comes next. Keep one metal color across the set, or deliberately pair white and yellow gold. See the iced out chain price guide for budgets.
